Northeastern, Reading, and Exeter Township (girls only) traveled to Chester County today to compete in one of the more interesting opening week meets. The Oakbourne Relays pairs two runners from each team, with four total 2-person teams entered per school. The first runner runs 1 mile then hands-off to the second runner who runs a mile and then they do it all over again. Each competitor runs a total of 2 miles. At the end of the race, total times are added up by pair for “individual/duo” honors and then all four team times are added up for total school times.

Highlights:

• The Northeastern girls duo of Margaret Carroll and Marissa Pritchett took the 2-person team title winning with a combined time of 24:29.
• The Exeter Twp girls team of Kat Kerchner and Sarah Smith placed 3rd overall with their combined time of 24:34
• Exeter Twp girls took the team title in a combined time of 1:42:12, defeating host West Chester Henderson by 12 seconds.
• The Northeastern boys duo of James Herman and Cole Perry teamed up to place 8th overall with their combined time of 20:52
