Regular Season Review

Twin Valley rolled through the regular season. The Raiders went undefeated and will be the heavy favorites to take home another county title tomorrow at Schuylkill County. Their top 5 runners this season are all ranked inside our top 10 in Berks County. Exeter‘s only loss this season came to Twin Valley and they have 4 athletes ranked inside our top 15 in Berks County. They lack the 5-7 depth to compete against Twin Valley this season. That said, they are without a senior in their top 7, so look out for the Eagles in 2021.

In class AA, Wyomissing had another strong year. A strong #1 in Owen Doyle plus minimal spread between their 2nd-5th runners has made them a tough out. Kutztown and Tulpehocken will both advance through to the District 3 class A championships, but you can expect a close battle between the two in this one. Tulpehocken beat Kutztown in week one 27-29, but the Cougars were without Mitchell Brett. The senior has since returned and ran 16:28 at home one week ago for the victory.

Individually, I expect Alex Holbrook (jr, Exeter), Noah Taylor (sr, Twin Valley), and Brett to battle for the title. Holbrook and Taylor matched up twice this season, with Taylor taking round one at Conrad Weiser and Holbrook taking round two at the PIAA Foundation Invitational. Luke Seymour (jr, Schuylkill Valley) and Jay Thompson (sr, Conrad Weiser) could also be in the mix.

BCIAA Meet Projections

The top 2 teams in both class AAA and class AA will advance to the District 3 Championships. The next 10 individuals, not on one of the two qualifying teams will also advance to districts. Here are our projections for who qualifies into districts from the BCIAA this season:

Class A Teams

Both Kutztown and Tulpehocken will advance to districts as class A, based on size, will run their district championship the same as prior years. That said, it is worthy to note that these two teams will be in the hunt for a district title in just under 2 weeks. Even with Mitchell Brett competing in this one I would expect a close battle.
