2021 Gettysburg Invitational – Meet Preview

All eyes turn to Gettysburg for this weekend’s 2021 Gettysburg Invitational. There will be some good team match-ups and even more great individual match-ups. We detail both varsity races below.

Girls Preview

Race start – 8:30a

District 3 ranked teams competing at Gettysburg:

Dallastown has been rolling all season and I expect a big performance from them on Saturday morning. The Wildcats have moved up to #2 in the PAMilesplit State Rankings. I’m hopeful that all teams competing will be at full strength to get a better glimpse of what they are capable of come the post-season.

The following girls are ranked inside of our District 3 “Top” Individual Rankings (in alphabetical order):

Camy Kiser (jr, Chambersburg) likely enters as the favorite, but expect a close battle between her and the Dallastown duo of Kailey Granger (jr) and Lydia Tolerico (sr), Susquehannock’s Nicole Dauberman, and Conrad Weiser’s Sydney Werner (jr). Kylee Cubbison (sr, Mifflin County) will be representing District 6 and should be a factor out front. Allie Martin (Preston, WV) and Caroline Gregory (Frederick, MD) are two out of state runners that could factor into the individual title run.

Boys Preview

Race start – 9:00a

District 3 ranked teams competing at Gettysburg:

The class AAA match-up between York Suburban and Chambersburg will be one I will be watching closely. York Suburban is a top heavy group that could place 3 individuals in the top 10-15 on Saturday. Chambersburg has solid depth and minimal spread between their top 5-7 guys. Who’s lineup comes out on top? Susquehannock is firmly entrenched amongst the top 3 teams in class AA while Trinity has been the clear #1 in class A over the last several weeks.

The following boys are ranked inside of our District 3 “Top” Individual Rankings (in alphabetical order):

This race should feature a rematch of one of the best regular season head to heads we have seen this season. Just this week, Matthew O’Brien (jr Susquehannock) edged out Cole Adams (sr, York Suburban) on the Gettysburg course, 15:58 to 16:02.

Look for District 6 athletes, Ben and Chris Love (seniors, Hollidaysburg) to battle for top 10 finishes.
