The BCIAA Track and Field Championships kick off this Thursday at Governor Mifflin. Based upon the meet’s entry/performance list, the Twin Valley boys and Wilson girls enter the meet as the team favorites.

Boys Preview:
The Twin Valley boys are a complete team, projected to score points in 14/18 events. Anthony Engle (jr, middle-distance) and Matthew Crow (sr, hurdles/jumps) lead the way. Engle is actually entered in 5 events this weekend so it will be interesting to see which events he will compete. Wyomissing figures to give Twin Valley their closest competition for the team title. They are projected to score in 12/18 events, with 47 of their projected 99 points coming from the throwing events. J’ven Williams (jr) has been dominant this season throwing 61-6 in the shot and 189-1 in the discus. Sophomores Collin Niedrowski and Drew Forrey are the top 2 seeds in the javelin.

Girls Preview
The Wilson girls are projected to score in 16/18 events during the BCIAA Championships. They are very strong in the distance and relays. In fact, they may sweep the 3 relay events. Leading the way for the Bulldogs are seniors Caryn Rippey, Katie Dallas, and Kara Brown. Look for all 3 to compete in 4 events, scoring in each. Exeter Township will try to keep pace with Wilson and will use their strength on the track and in the jumps to keep it close. Aiyana Rivera (sr) is coming off of her best performance of the year earlier this week and will lead the way for the Eagles.
