Freshmen have the ability to transform a team’s season from day one, and in District 3 girls cross country, their impact is often the difference between winning and falling short. Last season’s Class A girls team race was a perfect example. York Catholic edged Camp Hill, 31-38, to capture the district title by just seven points. Three freshmen finished among York Catholic’s top four scorers, proving just how valuable a strong freshman class can be. Without the contributions of the Class of 2029, they likely would not have claimed the championship.
