The 2019 Outdoor track and field season is upon us. If the XC and Indoor track and field seasons were a predictor of what to watch for, then Central Pennsylvania should have many athletes competing for post season awards this spring. Below we have highlighted many of the athletes that could compete for conference/league, district, and state accolades.
Please feel free to send me a direct message via twitter (@centralparunner) if you would like to add any missing information or if any of the information found here is incorrect. I am likely still missing many of the college choices for seniors who will be competing at the next level.

Had a great XC season that led into an indoor season where Toth set PRs at 800m, 1600m, and one mile. Expect further time drops this spring.
Ryan Vargo, Sr, Wyomissing
PRs: 800m (in) – 2:00.87, 800m – 2:01.73, 1600m – 4:31.88, 5k (XC) – 16:55
2018 XC Highlights: 5th BCIAA, 7th PIAA District III AA, 38th PIAA AA State Championships
2018 Outdoor Highlights: 800m – 6th PIAA District III AA. 1600m – 4th PIAA District III AA.
Set an all-time 800m PR this past winter. Likely to challenge for a spot at states in both the 800m and 1600m. Will likely run a leg on what should be a very strong AA 4x800m relay team.
Jack Wisner, Sr, Carlisle – COMMITTED TO UNIVERSITY OF PITTSBURGH
PRs: 400m (in) – 50.76, 800m (in) – 1:56.33, 800m – 1:56.30, 1600m – 4:18.71, 5k (XC) – 15:54
2018 XC Highlights: 4th Mid-Penn Conference, 4th PIAA District III AAA, 34th PIAA AAA State Championships
2018 Outdoor Highlights: 800m – 1st Mid-Penn Conference, 4th PIAA District III AAA. 1600m – 2nd Mid-Penn Conference, 1st PIAA District III AAA, 8th PIAA AAA State Championships
Wisner had a great indoor season, setting indoor PRs in the 800m and mile run and setting a lifetime best at 400m. He has great range as evidenced from his 50-point 400m speed to his sub 16-min 5k XC time. Could medal at both 800m and 1600m at the state meet.
Peter Wolf, Soph, Wilson
PRs: 1600m – 4:31.80
2018 Outdoor Highlights: 1600m – 4th BCIAA, 12th PIAA District III AAA
Was the top freshman miler in District III last spring.
