8/30/19 – Keystone Cup (@Hempfield) – results

The Keystone Cup kicks off our 2019 XC regular season. The Keystone Cup was started during the 2016-2017 school year. The ADs from Hempfield, Lower Dauphin, Governor Mifflin, and Dallastown decided to have a multi-sport tournament against each other in a variety of sports each season. Whoever earns the most points through the series of competitions wins the Keystone Cup at the end of the year.

The meet today was hosted by Hempfield and LL League scoring was used, meaning the scoring system used 3 displacers per team rather than 2 displacers. This would have an impact in the girls race where Dallastown ended up tying Hempfield AND Governor Mifflin then ultimately lost to both in a tie-breaker. They would have been 3-0 had 2 displacer scoring been used.

Highlights:

  • Dallastown girls went 1-2-3 overall. Emily Schuler broke 19-minutes for the victory.
  • Governor Mifflin girls placed 5 in the top 9.
  • Hempfield boys had a dominate performance placing 8 runners in the top 10. Evan Eshleman won in 16:36.
