Here’s a look at the top 30 “AAA” individual place-winners from each of the 4 conference/league championships. AAA qualifies 4 teams to the PIAA State Championships. AAA then qualifies the top 20 individual place winners who are NOT on one of the 4 state qualifying teams.
Boys:
We’re projecting that Cedar Crest, Hempfield, Hershey, and Palmyra will be the four teams qualifying for states. Twin Valley could just as easily qualify, but in this scenario are the odd team out. This appears to be a 5 team race for 4 spots, but come the morning of district’s, anything could happen. When you remove the individuals from those qualifying squads, AAA still qualifies 20 other individuals into states. Those highlighted in yellow are individuals not on one of the 4 qualifying teams who have a top 50 5k time (times from invites only) in AAA this season.
Girls:
The girl’s team race is much more difficult to predict. I could honestly see any team in the top 10 of our rankings qualifying as one of the 4 teams to states. Here, we are projecting that Chambersburg, Northeastern, Wilson, and Governor Mifflin will qualify for states. When you remove the individuals from those squads, AAA still qualifies 20 other individuals into states. Those highlighted in yellow are individuals not on one of the 4 qualifying teams who have a top 50 5k time (times from invites only) in AAA this season.
