Girls:
Central Cambria won the very competitive District 6 title last weekend and appear to be ready to challenge for the state team title this weekend in Hershey. District 4’s Warrior Run may be the favorites heading into the weekend. Central Cambria and Warrior Run will both run in the 11a grouping. Joining them in that 11a start time will be District 3 champion Berks Catholic. The Saints will be looking for a top 5 finish this year.
Boiling Spring sophomore Peyton Ellis and Wyomissing senior Grace Kuhn will give Central PA it’s best shot at an individual title. They went 1-2 at last weekend’s District 3 championships with Ellis taking the victory in 19:17.
Bolded are athletes with top 40 5k times in the state (Class AA) this season. They may be best positioned to earn one of the state medals (top 25) #medalwatch.

Boys
The team race should be a good one between Lewisburg, Central Cambria, and Kennard-Dale. These three have been on a collision course for this meet all season and each performed very well at their respective district meets. Fortunately, all three will be in the same starting block and will get to compete head to head.
Individually, look for Greencastle-Antrim’s Weber Long (jr) to challenge Dylan Throop (sr) of General McLane for the state title. Lewisburg’s Jacob Hess (jr) should also be in the title hunt. Unfortunately, all three athletes will be running in different sections and will have to run this championship like a time trial. Long got some experience with this format at the PIAA Foundation Invite earlier this season when he won the AA title and ran the 2nd fastest time of the day.
The contingent of District 3 runners in this race could bring home a lot of hardware. As many as 4 Kennard-Dale athletes along with all 6 individual qualifiers have a shot at a top 25 finish!
