The biggest meet of the weekend was the Adidas Indoor National Championships in Va Beach. Read our Adidas meet summary here.
In addition to Adidas, Cumberland Valley hosted a competitive Polar Bear meet on Saturday. Temperatures were better than some previous outdoor events of the winter and some good marks were produced. Several collegiate XC meets were also held.
Cumberland Valley Polar Bear (HS – outdoors): COMPLETE RESULTS
– Mia Boardman (jr, Cumberland Valley) sprinted to victory in the 60m in 8.40s.
– Riley Ebersole (so, Cumberland Valley) won both the 200m and 400m dashes. She won the 200m by 2.5-seconds, crossing the finish line in 27.12. In the 400m, she crossed in 1:00.09. Cumberland Valley looks to have a strong sprint squad heading into the 2021 outdoor season.
– A great match-up in the 400m between Cumberland Valley seniors James Jaisingh and David Williams and Gettysburg senior Noah Taylor did not disappoint. Jaisingh claimed the victory in 49.74. Sanders was close behind in 50.02. Williams ran a slid early season 51.60.
– Brady Bigger (sr, State College) opened his senior track campaign winning the mile run in 4:28.02.
– Grace Morningstar (so, State College) ran a solid 2:18.88 to win the 800m. Also running well was Cumberland Valley sophomore Ashley Pines who finished 2nd in 2:22.05.
– Marlee Kwasnica (so, State College) crossed 1st in the 1-mile run in 5:18.53. Jordan Reed (sr, State College) and Camryn Kiser (so, Chambersburg) finished 2nd and 3rd in 5:21.33 and 5:21.54, respectively.
– Chambersburg’s Darion Baumgartner (so) won the 60mH in 8.98s.
– Shannon Mullin (jr, State College) and a nice Long and Triple jump series leaping 17-00.75 and 34-09 to win both events.
ASUN Indoor Track and Field Championships: COMPLETE RESULTS
– Meredith Engle (fr, Liberty/Northern) finished 2nd in the Pentathlon with 3,559 points. This was a PR for Engle by over 300 points!
Lock Haven University Winter Classic (College – XC): COMPLETE RESULTS
Men:
– Chayce Macknair (so, Shippensburg Univ/Mifflin County) took home the individual title to lead Shippensburg University to the win. The 5k event was run on the road and Macknair finished in 14:51.80. Shippensburg dominated the event, scoring 21 points. Lock Haven was 2nd with 52 points.
– Hayden Hunt (fr, Shippensburg Univ/Shippensburg) was 4th in 15:11.50.
– Aidan Gonder (fr, Shippensburg Univ/Red Land) was 5th in 15:32.10.
– Alexander Ermold (so, Shippensburg Univ/Governor Mifflin) was 8th in 15:38.70.
– Gage Krall (fr, Lock Haven Univ/Northern Lebanon) was 10th in 15:54.00.
Women:
– Cadie Kiser (sr, Lock Haven/Chambersburg) placed 2nd running 18:25.7 to help Lock Haven claim victory with 37 points.
– Haley Schaller (sr, Clarion/Ephrata) placed 7th in 19:03.90.
Northeast Conference XC Championships (College): COMPLETE RESULTS – WOMEN
– Mary Campbell (fr, Mount Saint Mary’s/Ephrata) opened her collegiate XC career with a 22nd place finish at the NEC Championships. She ran 19:07.50 over the 5k distance to help Mount Saint Mary’s to a 2nd place team finish.
SSC XC Championships (College): COMPLETE RESULTS
– Brendan Shea (fr, Embry-Riddle/Hershey) finished 20th over the 8k course, running 27:45. Embry-Riddle took home the conference title.
