Introducing Travis Wilk (Manheim Township)

Hello, my name is Travis Wilk. I have been running track and field since eighth grade and ever since then I fell in love with the sport. I run the 110 and 300 hurdles. I am better at the 300 hurdles than I am at the 110s. I’m going into my senior season and in my junior season I placed third at states. Placing at states is probably one of my biggest accomplishments in my life so far and I’m really excited for next year. I really hope to place first next year at states.

My personal record for the 110 hurdles is a 14.8 and for my 300 hurdles is a 39.15. I hope to break into the 38’s for my 300 next year and I hope to get low 14’s next year for my 110.

Besides hurdling and running track I enjoy weightlifting in my free time. I go to the gym almost every day to work out and work on my speed and strength. I found that a combination of running, weightlifting, and eating well have been the most effective way to accomplish my goals.

I would like to run division one in college. Some colleges I am currently looking at and planning to visit are Monmouth, Saint Francis and Rider.

Even though I’ve run track for so long and I can work to better myself constantly, it wasn’t until this year that I realized how good I was and how much potential I have in the sport. I would like to thank of all the people that I’ve run against to push me to better myself throughout this year.
