College Athlete Updates (Jan 20-21, 2022)

Here’s a look at how some of our local athletes performed this past weekend:

Meredith Engle (Liberty University/Northern) – Engle was the top collegiate athlete in the pentathlon at the Brant Tolsma Invitational at Liberty University. Her score of 3722 was a new PR and currently ranks her 22nd in the country!

Evan Dorenkamp (Penn State University/Manheim Towship) – Evan PR’d in the 1000m run at the Penn State National Open, running 2:21.33.

Brendan Colwell (Penn State University/Penns Valley) – PR’d in the 3000m at the Penn State National Open, clocking a time of 8:19.20 to place 4th.

Luke Knipe (Penn State University/State College) – Cleared 16-8.75 to win the Pole Vault at PSU on Saturday. He is currently ranked 4th in the Big Ten.

Yasmin Brooks (Penn State University/Susquehanna Twp) – Set new PRs while finishing 3rd in the 200m (24.58) and 1st the 60mH (8.23). Also ran on the winning 4x400m relay that finished in 3:43.92. Brooks is ranked 1st in the Big Ten and 16th in the country for the 60mH!

Makenna Krebs (Penn State University/CD East) – Finished 2nd in the 3k at Penn State, running a new PR of 9:28.22. That time ranks her 5th in the Big Ten.

Sophia Toti (Penn State University/Carlisle) – Finished 4th in the 3k at Penn State while setting a new PR of 9:43.69. That time ranks her 13th in the Big Ten.

Jane Livingston (Villanova University/Conestoga Valley) – Won the 60mH at the Villanova Invitational in a new PR time of 8.32. She is ranked 1st in the Big East and 27th in the country!

Lyndsey Reed (University of Mississippi/State College) – Won the Vanderbilt Invitational Pole Vault with a 13-11.25 clearance. That mark places her 4th in the SEC and 13th in the country!

Katie Locker (Monmouth University/Elizabethtown) – Ran 4:59.07 in the mile at Villanova to set a new indoor PR. That time ranks her 3rd in the MAAC.

Emily Stauffer (University of Missouri/Cocalico) – Set a new PR in the weight throw with a 62-5 foot toss at the Cycolne Invitational. She is currently ranked 10th in the SEC in the event. She is also ranked 10th in the SEC with her shot put performance of 51-1.5 ft.

Leah Graybill (Shippensburg University/Warwick) – Ran a converted PR of 24.53 in winning the 200m at the Bucknell Gulden Invitational. She is currently ranked 3rd in NCAA D2 this season! This was a new Shippensburg University school record.

Meghan Quinn (Bucknell University/Warwick) – Ran a converted PR of 25.03 in the 200m at the Gulden Invitational. She is currently ranked 3rd in the Patriot League in the event.

Richard Gilchrest (Mount Saint Mary’s/Harrisburg) – Posted an 8.06 60mH time to take 1st at Bucknell. His time places him #1 in the NEC Conference.

Will Rivers (West Chester University/Manheim Central) – PR’d with a 48-2.75ft triple jump at the NYC Gotham Cup. He is currently ranked #1 in the PSAC and 18th in NCAA D2!

Anthony DeFusco (Kutztown University/Daniel Boone) – Won the triple jump at Alvernia in a new PR of 46-8.25. He is currently ranked #2 in the PSAC.

TJ White (Kutztown University/Muhlenberg) – Placed 2nd in the high jump at Alvernia with a 6-4.25 clearance. He is ranked 6th in the PSAC.

Dan Hyatt (Slippery Rock University/Hershey) – Finished 4th in the Pole Vault at Youngstown State with a 15-0 jump. He is currently ranked 1st in the PSAC.

Chayce Macknair (Shippensburg University/Mifflin County) – Won the 5000m at Bucknell, running a converted time of 14:49.39. That time ranks him 1st in the PSAC.
