College Athlete Updates (Jan 14-16, 2022)

Here’s a look at how some of our local collegiate athletes performed this past weekend.


Bryce Baker, St. Francis (CD East) – TFRRS Profile

Competing at the Nittany Lion Challenge, Baker ran 7.00 in the 60m and 22.50 in the 200m.

Yasmin Brooks, Penn State (Susquehanna Twp) – TFRRS Profile

Won the 60mH at the Nittany Lion Challenge in a new PR of 8.30. Her time ranks 1st in the Big Ten and 18th in the country!

Kolt Byers, High Point (Bermudian Springs) – TFRRS Profile

Byers cleared 13-11.25 at Virginia Tech and currently ranks 2nd in the Big South. He also jumped 6-2.75 in the High Jump.

Brendan Colwell, Penn State (Penns Valley) – TFRRS Profile

Colwell debuted in his Nittany Lion singlet at the Nittany Lion Challenge running the mile in 4:15.52. He doubled back a short time later to run 2:32.47 in the 1k.

Evan Dorenkamp, Penn State (Manheim Township) – TFRRS Profile

Dorenkamp opened up his indoor season in a big way, winning the Nittany Lion Challenge 3K in a time of 8:01.84. This time currently ranks 1st in the Big Ten and 10th in the country! Evan advanced to Eugene last spring as an 800m finalist, but may be looking to contend at longer distances this season. He placed 16th at the Big Ten Championships and 17th at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships.

Meredith Engle, Liberty (Northern) – TFRRS Profile

Engle is a multi-event specialist for the Flames and ran 9.33 (60mH) and cleared 5-1.25 in the High Jump at Virginia Tech.

Mackenzie Horn, High Point (Manheim Township) – TFRRS Profile

Mackenzie placed 5th at Virginia Tech, clearing 13-5. She is currently ranked 2nd in the Big South.

Sydney Horn, High Point (Manheim Township) – TFRRS Profile

Sydney placed 2nd at Virginia Tech, clearing 14-02.75. She currently ranks 1st in the Big South and 4th nationally.

Nickolas Hyde, Saint Francis (Somerset) – TFRRS Profile

Hyde finished 5th in the shot put at the Nittany Lion Challenge with a toss of 55-00.25. That throw puts him #1 in the NEC.

Tommy Johnson, Saint Josephs’s (Hershey) – TFRRS Profile

Placed 8th at the Nittany Lion Challenge running 1:58.52 for 800m.

Cadie Kiser, Lock Haven (Chambersburg) – TFRRS Profile

Cadie took home the 5k win at Susquehanna running 18:39.62. That time is currently #2 in the PSAC.

Gage Krall, Lock Haven (Northern Lebanon) – TFRRS Profile

Krall won the 5k at the Susquehanna Invitational (15:44.50). The time is currently #1 in the PSAC.

Jane Livingston, Villanova (Conestoga Valley) – TFRRS Profile

Won the 60mH at the Penn 10-Team Select in a new PR of 8.38. That performance currently ranks her 1st in the Big East and 27th in the country!

Anna Martin, Cornerstone (Warwick) – TFRRS Profile

Won the mile in 5:04.34 and finished 5th in the 3k (10:16.20) at the GVSU Bob Eubanks Open. She was an all-American in the fall with her 9th place performance at the NAIA National Championships.

Olivia Moyer, Belmont (Wilson) – TFRRS Profile

Moyer set a shot put PR of 41-7 in finishing 8th at the Commodore Invitational. That throw ranks her 4th in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Anna Posh, Bucknell (Twin Valley) – TFRRS Profile

Ran 2:22.07 at the Nittany Lion Challenge. Also ran a leg on Bucknell’s 4x400m relay that went 4:05.01.

Colton Sands, North Carolina (Penns Valley) – TFRRS Profile

Had his collegiate debut at the Virginia Tech Invitational and finished 3rd in the mile, running 4:08.28.

Aaliyah Serrano, Mansfield (Conrad Weiser) – TFRRS Profile

Won the 200m (26.01) and placed 3rd in the 60m (7.98) at the Al Hall Freedom Games.

Noah Taylor, Rider (Twin Valley) – TFRRS Profile

Ran 4:19.71 for the mile to finish 4th at the Spartan Invitational. Finished 4th at the Wagner Invitational last weekend in the 3k, running 8:39.50. Both times are PRs for Taylor.

Tesia Thomas, Penn State (West York) – TFRRS Profile

Thomas won the triple jump (40-00.75) and placed 2nd in the long jump (18-09.75) at the Nittany Lion Challenge. She is ranked 7th in the Big Ten for the Triple Jump.
