Projected top 5 Teams and Individuals
Here is a look at our top 5 team and individual projections. We also include projected finishes for Central PA Teams. Central PA state medal hopefuls are also detailed below.
Team Top 5 Projections

The team race likely comes down to 3. Riverview, Annville-Cleona, and Eden Christian are separated by just 14 points in our pre-race projections. Annville-Cleona won the PIAA Foundation Invite earlier this season and could use that experience on the state course to their advantage.
Individual Top 5 Projections

While Tyler Rader (more below) and Jaxon Schoedel enter as the favorites don’t count out Kevin Sherry (sr, Coudersport). Sherry didn’t have the District 9 meet he would have hoped for finishing 4th but his performances earlier in the season suggest he could contend for the individual win if healthy. He finished 5 seconds back of Rader at PIAA Foundation.
Central PA State Medal Hopefuls (with recent performances):
- Tyler Rader, sr Huntingdon – Tyler Rader has won every Invitational and post-season race in 2023 except for the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational when he finished 2nd. The District 6 champion will likely battle Mohawk’s Jaxon Schoedel for the state title. He was the state runner-up last year to Palisades Thomas Smigo (now at Lehigh University).
- Landon Hostetter, jr Annville-Cleona – Hostetter won the District 3 title by 9 seconds over Henry Friedrichs to win in 16:23. The two cleared the rest of the field by over :45 seconds. Hostetter placed 12th at the LL League Championships (16:27) and was 11th at PIAA Foundation (17:29). Placed 5th at the state championships last fall. A top 5 finish again this year is very possible.
- Henry Friedrichs, jr Veritas Academy – Was 2nd to Hostetter at the District 3 Championships running 16:32. Placed 28th at the William Tennent Invitational (16:40). Finished 17th at the 2022 state meet.
- Oliver Funck, so Annville-Cleona – Finished 3rd at the District 3 Championships (17:18). Placed 20th at the LL League Championships (16:41). Ran 17:38 to place 15th at the PIAA Foundation Invitational.
- Evan George, sr Central Cambria – George ran 17:19 and finished 4th at the District 6 Championships. He was 3rd at LHACs (16:52) and ran 17:55 for a 24th place finish at PIAA Foundation.
- Noah Huxta, fr Dayspring Christian – Placed 6th at the DIstrict 3 Championships in 17:34. Ran 16:51 for a 32nd place finish at William Tennent and ran 18:01 for a 25th place finish at PIAA Foundation.
- Jack Driscoll, sr York Catholic – Ran 17:34 at District 3 to finish 5th. Was 15th at YAIAAs running 17:20. He placed 26th at PIAA Foundation in 18:01.
