The 2024 PIAA Track and Field Championships kick off on Friday morning (May 25th). Here is an event by event overview highlighting Central PA competitors. Included in the notes section of each event are the medal winning marks from the past 3 years. As a reminder, the 2021 championships had cold and wet weather that definitively impacted the results.
Track Events – FRIDAY

#23 Lila Shore, jr Trinity – 5:21.59
Notes: Kate Moncavage and Chelsea Hartman (sr, Shady Side) have both run 5:00 this season and are likely to battle for the individual win. Addie Cohen looked great last weekend at District 3. She ran all of her races very controlled for the first half (3200, 1600, 800) and then gradually picked up tempo over the 2nd half. She ran 5:11.25 but showed she is ready to run much faster. She has a 5:00.51 PR from last year’s state meet when she finished runner-up.

Class AAA Girls – 32 entries
