Preview: District 3 Class A Girls XC

With the 2024/2025 reclassification changes, this could be one of the smallest fields we have seen in Class A in years. Several programs have no known returnees or only 1 known returnee for this season. 4 teams seem capable of grabbing 1 of the 2 team state qualifying spots to states. Those 4 include Lancaster Catholic, York Catholic, Covenant Christian, and Camp Hill. Individually, defending champion Madeline Murphy (sr) of York Catholic is the favorite. She took home the title in 2023 by :34s over teammate Sheila Driscoll (jr). Natalie Creason (jr, Covenant Christian), Eden Lin (sr, Lancaster Catholic), and Jordan Lawruk (jr, Camp Hill) are other individuals to watch.

Any freshmen or sophomore transfers into these programs could have a big impact on overall team results due to the smaller roster sizes. Keep in mind that the PIAA does not permit (without special circumstance) junior or senior transfers to participate in PIAA sanctioned postseason championships.

Here is a team-by-team look at all participating schools in District 3 Class A. Individually we highlight those runners appearing in the top 15 of our pre-season individual rankings. Those rankings will be released soon.
