Girls Candidates:
Natalie Quinn (Senior, Chambersburg): Quinn started the season off with a 39 second victory at the Enos Yeager Invitational, as she was the only runner under 15 minutes in the 2.33 mile race, running 14:49. In 2025, Quinn ran 15:30 at the same meet, improving by 41 seconds from last season while moving up from a third place finish.
Eden McHugh (Sophomore, Twin Valley): Twin Valley competed at the Downingtown East HS Season Opener on Friday, where Eden McHugh started her season off strong, finishing fifth in 22:43. McHugh was also the second fastest sophomore in the field.
Julia Leady (Senior, Daniel Boone): Leady had a course-record breaking performance at the Warwick Twilight Tune Up, breaking Ana Bondy’s previous record by nine seconds with a sub-10-minute performance. Leady clocked 9:56.2, narrowly edging out JP McCaskey’s Ruby Garner-Valle for the victory.
Lauren Mengal (Sophomore, Wilson): Mengal led Wilson to a third place team finish at the Neshaminy Open, placing seventh overall with a time of 22:16.
Boys Candidates:
Rylan Asper (Senior, Shippensburg): Like Quinn, Asper started his season off with a win, taking the Enos Yeager Invitational by six seconds over Big Spring junior Asher Baker. Asper clocked a time of 12:34, which is eight seconds faster than what he ran at this meet last season for the 2.33 mile race.
Andrew Servis (Junior, Twin Valley): Servis led the Twin Valley boys to a second-place team finish at the Downingtown East HS Season Opener, placing sixth individually with a time of 18:08.
Ryne Coble (Junior, Red Lion): Coble posted the second-fastest time in course history at the Warwick Twilight Tune Up, finishing just behind last season’s state champion, Travis Furmanski, and ahead of former Lion Daniel Naylor. Coble won the meet in 8:53.4, beating Daniel Dunkleberger by just over a second.
Jayden Lockhart (Senior, Wilson): Wilson was the only District 3 team to compete at the Neshaminy Open, and Jayden Lockhart represented the Bulldogs well, winning the invitational in 16:31 for a seven-second victory. Lockhart also helped lead Wilson to a second-place team finish.
